Material passports.
Give every item a record that outlives the project. Camio material passports hold what an item is, what it is made of, its carbon and its full history, wherever it goes next.

What material passports are.
A material passport is a digital record of an item or material: what it is, what it is made of, its condition, embodied carbon and history. It makes it far easier to reuse, resell or recover at the end of each life.
Passports are created from any Camio audit, such as a pre-demolition audit or a furniture and FF&E carbon audit, and then kept up to date.
- Materials, dimensions, condition and carbon in one record
- Full history across lives, locations and owners
Why it matters.
Reuse depends on information. Buyers, designers and contractors need to know what an item is, where it has been and whether it is fit for purpose before they will specify it again.
Passports are also where regulation is heading, with the EU Digital Product Passport introducing product-level records over the coming years.

The Camio difference
Camio material passports.
Most passports describe an item on one day. Camio passports are live: every move, repair, change of owner and resale is added to the same record, so the history builds up over every life.
Passports can be shared by link or QR tag, so the next owner gets the full record when the item changes hands.

Every asset, every life
Most audits describe a building on one day. Camio follows every asset for life.
Each item keeps its record through every life, every location and every owner. That is what makes Camio the natural fit for BREEAM In-Use, SKA and estates where assets move between projects again and again.

Multiple lives
Reuse, refurbishment and resale are recorded against the same item, so carbon savings add up over every life.
Multiple locations
Moves between floors, buildings and projects are tracked, so the inventory always shows where things really are.
Multiple owners
Items keep their history when they change hands, from landlord to tenant to buyer, across your whole estate.

Questions we are often asked
How is a material passport different from an asset register?
An asset register lists what you own today. A passport follows each item across its whole life, including after it leaves your estate.
Can passports move with items to a new owner?
Yes. Passports can be transferred when an item is sold or moved to a new owner, so the record is never lost.
Do we need an audit first?
Passports are created from audit data, so most projects start with the audit that suits the building and stage.
