SKA

SKA fit-out audits.

Prove the reuse in your fit-out. Camio records what was retained, reused and diverted, item by item, so your SKA assessor has clear evidence at every stage.

What is a ska fit-out audit?

RICS SKA rating is the environmental assessment for non-domestic fit-outs, covering offices, retail and higher education. Projects are assessed at design, during delivery and once the space is occupied.

A SKA fit-out audit captures the existing fit-out before works, then tracks what is retained, reused, brought in second-hand or diverted from landfill, giving you the materials and waste evidence the rating relies on.

  • Existing fit-out captured before works start
  • Reuse and diversion evidenced item by item

Why you need a ska fit-out audit.

Fit-outs are replaced far more often than buildings, so their embodied carbon adds up quickly. SKA rewards fit-outs that reuse what is there, specify responsibly and divert waste.

The challenge is evidence. Assessors need to see what happened to each item, and that is hard to reconstruct from spreadsheets and photos after the event.

The Camio difference

Why Camio for SKA.

Camio tracks every item across its lives, locations and owners. Items retained in place, moved to another floor or brought in from another project all keep their records, so your evidence builds up as the work happens.

When the space is occupied, the same inventory supports the occupancy stage and the next fit-out, rather than being archived.

How it works

From site visit to finished report, in days not weeks.

  1. 01

    Capture the existing fit-out

Every item recorded in the Camio app before works start.

  2. 02

    Plan retention and reuse

Your design team marks what stays, what moves and what comes in second-hand.

  3. 03

    Track during delivery

Moves, reuse and waste routes are recorded against each item as works progress.

  4. 04

    Report for each stage

Evidence for design, delivery and occupancy generated from the inventory in minutes.

  5. 05

    Carry into occupancy

The inventory stays live for the occupancy stage and the next fit-out.

Every asset, every life

Most audits describe a building on one day. Camio follows every asset for life.

Each item keeps its record through every life, every location and every owner. That is what makes Camio the natural fit for BREEAM In-Use, SKA and estates where assets move between projects again and again.

Multiple lives

Reuse, refurbishment and resale are recorded against the same item, so carbon savings add up over every life.

Multiple locations

Moves between floors, buildings and projects are tracked, so the inventory always shows where things really are.

Multiple owners

Items keep their history when they change hands, from landlord to tenant to buyer, across your whole estate.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Are you SKA assessors?

[Confirm whether Camio has RICS-accredited SKA assessors, or works alongside the project's assessor.] Either way, Camio provides the item-level evidence the assessment draws on.

Which SKA schemes does this support?

SKA rating covers office, retail and higher education fit-outs. Camio evidence works across all three.

Can we use items from our other buildings?

Yes. Items moved in from other sites keep their history in Camio, so reuse from across your estate is recorded as part of the fit-out.
